The ethics of academic publishing

Great article, though I’m not sure why she doesn’t mention open-access journals as one possible solution to the problem she identifies. It also occurs to me that another angle one could take on this is to point out that in the UK, government agencies funding research are currently obsessed with ‘impact,’ and so perhaps grant applications should state that they will maximise potential impact by not publishing any of their findings behind academic paywalls. If I had time I’d write an article taking that angle, but right now I don’t even have time to scratch my nose.
